Astroseal is a focused manufacturer and supplier to the aerospace composite market.  Our processes and products are designed specifically to make the highest quality product for composite aerospace manufacturers.

In 1984, Astroseal pioneered the manufacturing of Astrostrike® Lightning Strike Protection (LSP).  Astrostrike® was created to address the aerospace composite market's desire for a lighter Lightning Strike Protection (LSP) product, which is one of the layers in a composite aircraft. Astroseal has continued to work to remain the premier LSP product used by the aerospace industry.

While we start with a basic expanded metal mesh screen, we use extensive processes to make an aerospace product.  After we produce the screen, we anneal our products to insure we recapture electrical resistance caused by work hardening of the material and to create an extremely drapable product. We clean and coat our products with a corrosion resistant primer to insure a repeatable and consistent bond surface, and to protect our LSP products from environmental corrosion.  Our products have a known profile for electrical, environmental and bondable repeatability.

We have designed and built our equipment to specifically perform these processes, not because it is easy, but because it is right.  These processes and products were required by the aerospace engineers.

There are companies selling basic screens that tell you not to worry about corrosion, oxidation, tarnish or “bond surface.”  We pioneered a product that insures you do not have to worry. We put the effort in so the customer doesn’t have to compromise.  In aerospace it should be done right, not cheaper.

If you compare the costs for having cleaning and coating done by outside contractors, you will find that all of our CX and CXMC products have the most economical cost with the highest quality.  We don’t simply protect the plane from lightning strikes; Astrostrike® protects the passengers, the crew, the engineers and the company who produced the plane.

Composites have been designed to last thirty (30) years and Astroseal has gone to great efforts to create processes so that our LSP products will have the same longevity.While others may only care to make the least expensive product,  Astroseal manufactures the highest repeatable quality at the most reasonable cost.  We don’t compete on price, we compete on quality.
